Contractor Management
Contractor Management takes Mitti into a new market, helping companies make sure every contractor on site is competent, compliant and ready to work. Built across multiple teams, it needed a lot of moving parts to come together.
Contractors do some of the riskiest work on site, yet most companies still manage them in spreadsheets.
Contractors get hurt at higher rates than employees. In oil and gas, their fatal accident rate is double. But the company that hires them keeps the legal duty for their safety. That means checking every contracting company before it's hired, and every worker before they step on site.
Our sales conversations kept hitting the same wall: contractors tracked in spreadsheets, insurances chased over email and documents spread across different tools. Without a way to manage contractors in Mitti, deals were getting stuck.
A two-pronged plan. I led one, then found what the other was missing.
The MVP was planned in two prongs, each owned by a separate team: a company register to keep track of contractor businesses, and inductions to get their workers ready for site. I led inductions end to end. I joined the company side after it reached early access, and my research showed we were missing a key piece: a way to prequalify contractors.
Workers ready before they arrive
Working with our Training team, I designed inductions that workers complete on their phone before they arrive, uploading their licences and credentials as they go. The business hiring them knows who's ready before anyone steps on site.
Companies vetted before they're hired
Early access customers could list their contractor companies but had no way to vet them. A sentiment analysis across early access conversations surfaced the gap, and 15 prototype interviews helped me define what prequalification needed to do.

1,500 organisations now manage their contractors in Mitti every month.
Contractor Management launched as a true MVP, aimed at small to mid-market customers, and opened up a slice of the market we didn't have before.
Numbers accurate as of Sep 2026.
